환상의 휴가
비행기 관제 요원인 잭(Jack Chester: 존 캔디 분)은 사소한 실수를 연발하고 상사로부터 5주간 강제 휴가를 받는다. 얼떨결에 받은 휴가로 가족과 함께 플로리다에 오지만모든 일이 꼬이기 시작한다. 첫날부터 일광욕을 잘못해 화상을 입고 집을 잘못 찾아가 한밤중에 쫓겨나는 신세가 된다. 아이들은 무능력한 아빠에게 싫증을 내고 잭은 탈진 상태에 빠진다.
