Η συγγραφέας παιδικών βιβλίων Dorothy Gale ζωντανεύει αξιοπρεπώς την σειρά του Οζ που ξεκίνησε ο παππούς της. Όταν ένας νέος αντιπρόσωπος μπαίνει στο κέντρο, η Dorothy μετακομίζει στην Νέα Υόρκη. Στη μέση μιας μεγάλης συμφωνίας για τα βιβλία της, η Dorothy ανακαλύπτει ότι αυτά δε βασίζονται στη φαντασία της, αλλά σε απωθημένες αναμνήσεις. Ενώ η Dorothy παλεύει με την αποκάλυψη, αναγκάζεται να αντιμετωπίσει την Κακιά Μάγισσα της Δύσης, που κατέβηκε από το Μεγάλο Μήλο, αποφασισμένη να κλείσει τους παλιούς λογαριασμούς της.
